The Office of the Social Secretary is proud to present the fourth show from the Goldenberg Concert Series featuring violin virtuoso, Mr. Adrian Ong and pianist extraordinaire, Mr. Jet Stephen Chong.
The concert took place on the 5th of July 2024, at the historic Goldenberg Mansion. The show ran twice with a designated audience from various educational institutions at 2pm and 5pm.
Adrian Ong is a student of music, who is currently pursuing an artist diploma at The Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School in Toronto, Canada. He is a scholar of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines. The young Filipino made his orchestral debut with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra at just 17 years of age and is often praised for his intelligent musical instinct and unique sound. The young violinist has collaborated with numerous artists garnering him a nomination for “Best Instrumentalist” at the 2022 Awit Awards.
Jet Stephen Chong is a pianist of Filipino – Chinese heritage with numerous accolades in international piano competitions, winning the top prizes in the Philippines, France, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. He made his orchestral debut at the age of 15 and his musical journey is marked by a series of solo recitals and performances. He is currently completing his graduate studies at Indiana University Bloomington's Jacobs School of Music under the mentorship of Dr. Spencer Myer, where he is an Associate Instructor in Piano, showcasing his commitment in advancing his skills and imparting musical knowledge to others.
The 2pm show was flocked by musically inclined students from Unibersidad ng Maynila, Taguig City University, Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science & Technology, Pamantansan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Centro Escolar University.
The 5pm show welcomed students from San Beda College – Alabang, Technological University of the Philippines, Meridian International College and the University of Sto. Tomas.
The students were left inspired and in awe by the young and successful Filipino musicians who have honed their craft thousands of miles away. The dynamic piano and violin performance were a masterclass of music in a historical and majestic setting
